Goémon

Long informal but existing for over 10 years, Goémon is a sporadic project of manufacturing and textile amusement.

Its name deliberately evokes the Breton coastlines, near where the pieces are designed and made.
It also refers to Japanese folklore and its popular hero, Goémon Ishikawa. A nod to Japan's relationship with the object, as well as my personal journey, which significantly influence my work for Goémon.

Accustomed to custom creations and personal research projects, I wanted, for once, to anticipate the creation of a first collection. My ambition: to design a coherent set, where each piece retains its singularity, its unique character, faithful to the very essence of Goémon.

This first collection is the result of several initiatives carried out in recent years:

- The creation of a light, water-resistant bag, with good capacity, ideal for weekends, the beach, or as an extra bag
(Some prototypes are already out in nature)

- Dyeing and washing work on technical fabrics, aiming to restore an organic look to petrochemical-based canvases
(Or how to save a roll of fabric that had become a bit outdated)

- The desire to share my sewing notes in order to collaborate with other seamstresses and make patterns available.

I hope you enjoy discovering this first collection as much as I enjoyed dedicating my time and energy to it.

I would like to thank for their support in the Goémon adventure: Aurélien, Estelle, Florent, Peter, Sarah.
